Korea-Indonesia launch E-Mobility Cooperation Center

South Korea to supply Indonesia with 65 electric vehicles (EVs), 90 electric two-wheeled vehicles and 71 chargers, establish an EV after sales service center, and support Indonesia’s e-mobility infrastructure.

South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) plans to supply Indonesia with 65 electric vehicles (EVs), 90 electric two-wheeled vehicles and 71 chargers, establish an EV after-sales service center, and

support Indonesia’s e-mobility infrastructure through training up of maintenance, production and R&D

personnel.

 

E-mobility collaboration was also discussed between the Korean Minister Jang and Airlangga Hartarto, an

Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs. Both agreed to expand bilateral governmental co-

operation between two countries in terms of R&D tailored to local demand, policy design for increasing

supply of Eco-friendly vehicles, and assistance for Korean firms in the local market. 

 

Vice Minister Jang, further proposed an e-mobility cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) bet-

ween the Korean and Indonesian governments.
 
It is anticipated that the expanding EV market and governmental support across the ASEAN region will create new opportunities for Korean firms operating in the local market.
