South Korea- Poland signed 33 MOUs to improve bilateral cooperation in advanced & manufacturing Industries

South Korea and Poland has signed 33 MOUs to make strong bilateral cooperative ties between the two

countries held at the Korea-Poland Business Forum in Poland during the official visit of Korean President Yoon Seok Yeol, said the ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) on July 14,2023.

 

The Korea-Poland Business Forum was held to advance bilateral cooperation and obtain tangible outcomes in battery, high-tech industries, nuclear energy and defense, as well as collaborate on the reconstruction of

Ukraine and public infrastructure projects involving airports and high-speed railway systems.

 

About 350 representatives from South Korea and Polish economic organizations, large corporations, middle-

market companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have attended the Forum.

 

Lee Chang-yang, South Korea’s minister of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and Waldemar Buda, Poland’s Economic Development and Technology Minister attended the ceremony for the signing of 33 cooperation

memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between the companies of South Korea and Poland.

 

1.    Eleven MOUs were signed for partnership in advanced industries like battery, future mobility, aviation, and in manufacturing sectors like robotics, machinery and railways. 


2.    13 MOUs including construction, infrastructure, Ukraine’s reconstruction, nuclear energy, hydrogen and

other low carbon energy sectors were signed to strengthen the bond.


3.    9 MOUs including Finance, tourism and people-to-people exchange are locked among the new co-

operation areas between the two nations. 

 

Moreover, South Korea’s Pusan National University, Kyungpook National University and Chonnam National

University signed MOUs with Poland’s Warsaw University of Technology and Adam Mickiewicz University for

science and engineering student exchanges. 

 

South Korea and Poland shares improved strategic partnership shows the bilateral trade of $9 million a major purchase of K2 Black Panther tanks, K9 Thunder howitzers and FA-50 fighter jets from South Korea in the last year 2022,one of the highest within 34-year-long relations.


South Korea was the first Asian country to officially loan $450 million economic aids to Poland.
