Today, around 3 a.m. early in the morning 1 man found dead as the elevator became flooded on the second basement floor of an officetel in Nae-dong, Nonsan-si, Chungnam.

Firefighters responded to a report from a resident who said, “The elevator is filling with water and people are screaming for help.” 

Soon after receiving the call, the fire brigade authorities arrived for help, drained the building, which was submerged in water up to the first basement floor, but recovered a male body in the elevator believed to be in his 50s.

The Police and fire authorities are investigating the identity of the deceased and the exact circumstances of the accident.
