“I came only to kill Imran Khan” (Sirf Imran Khan ko maarna tha), the alleged shooter said on camera
apparently recorded by the police. Added, “I did this because he was misleading people. I couldn't take it.
I had decided to do this the day he started the rally.” "Nobody was behind me, nobody is with me,"
he told reporters.
PTI leaders Qasim Khan Suri notified “the attacker wanted to distract people’s attention to let the snipers fire
from a higher position.” asked in his tweet that “how six bullets from a pistol killed one person and injured 14 people, adding the bullets fired by the attacker standing below the container could not pierce through the
heavy metal sheet.
PTI Secretary General Asad Umar said in his video statement “Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sana Ullah intelligence official Major-General Faisal Naseer to be behind this assassinate attack.
“Our demand is to remove all three and if they are not removed, there will be country-wide protests,” he said.
PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said, “the attack on Chairman Imran Khan is basically an attack on Pakistan. We
will take revenge of it.”
In response, Shahzad Anwar Farooqi, Sr Journalist said on CNN-18 News, “it is a designed game plan of the
persons who want disability of Pakistan. Pakistan is already facing political instability and financial issues. These
kinds of statements are not good for the nation. We need to be calm and peaceful.”
