Newsnomics AJAY ANGELINA reporter | Park Jin, the South Korean Foreign Minister is going to attend an
annual 59th Munich security conference (MSC 2023) in Germany set for Feb. 17-19, 2023 where Jin will
explain details of the country's new Indo-Pacific strategy, his office said on Thursday.
During the Munich Security Conference, Park will introduce the South's regional strategy in the Indo-Pacific areas, outlined by President Yoon Suk Yeol last year at first, according to the foreign ministry.
On the sidelines of the forum, Park will also hold a series of bilateral talks with his foreign counterparts, amid attention over whether he could have one-on-one talks with Japanese foreign minister Yoshimasa Hayashi.
As Seoul and Tokyo have held working-level diplomatic consultations to address the long-standing issue of
compensating Korean victims of Japan's wartime forced labor.
Meanwhile, Park will visit the Netherlands to attend an international summit on the application of artificial inte
lligence in the military domain, scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday, before heading to Munich, the ministry said.
The annual 59th Munich Security Conference (MSC 2023) focuses on global security policies, brings together
senior decision-makers around the world, including heads of state, ministers, prominent figures from inter-
national and non-governmental organizations, as well as high-ranking representatives from industry, media,
academia, and civil society, for an intensive debate on the present and future security challenges.
