Newsnomics AJAY ANGELINA reporter | South Korean Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon said, “the war in
Ukraine should end” in his speech at the World Justice Ministers' Meeting held in London, England
announced by the Ministry of Justice on the 21 March, 2023.
Minister Han said “illegal aggression that takes innocent lives cannot be justified under any circumstances.” It must end immediately.”
“It is true that South Korea is far from Ukraine, but Koreans hear the sound of bombings directed at civilians and the mournful cries of the loss of loved ones,” he said.
Minister Han said, “this is not a matter of geography or distance, but about solidarity and justice. If we truly believe in democracy and the rule of law, we should not be silent about the plight of innocent Ukrainians."
"Silence now will make this world a more dangerous place” he added in his speech.
Minister Han further said, “I sincerely hope that the Ukrainian people will enjoy freedom and justice in peace as soon as possible.”
“I reaffirm my strong support for our common efforts to achieve peace and justice for the victims” he said.
About 20 ministers of justice from France, Germany, Italy and Spain, as well as officials from the International
Criminal Court (ICC) and the European Union (EU), attended the meeting hosted by London on March 20 to discuss measures to help victims of the war in Ukraine.
