
Newsnomics AJAY ANGELINA reporter | ‘Pakistan National Day’ was celebrated by the Embassy of the
Islamic republic of Pakistan in Seoul, South Korea on Wednesday 22,2023 at Sapphire Ballroom (3F), Lotte
hotel, Seoul.
The occasion was arranged to celebrate ‘Pakistan national day’ as well as the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
The occasion was attended by His excellency Mr. Lee Hack Young, a member of National Assembly to Re-
public of Korea, H.E Nabeel Munir, an Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Park Yongmin, Deputy Minister for Multilateral and Global Affairs, Mr. Lee Kyung-chul, a special represen-
tative for Afghanistan and Pakistan ministry of foreign affairs to Republic of Korea, Lt. General (R) Humayun
Aziz, Federal Secretary for the ministry of defense production of Pakistan, along with parliamentarians,
excellencies, military attache, businessmen, and high officials from 40 countries residing in South Korea.


Miss Yoon Esther, in her beautiful voice has presented the national anthems of South Korea and Pakistan at
the very start of the ceremony.
His excellency Mr. Nabeel Munir, has commenced the event by passing welcome remarks for the distin-
guished guests, who graced the place with their presence on the commemoration day in the history of
Pakistan.
Prior to all, H.E Nabeel Munir paid tribute to the struggle and sacrifices of the great leaders of Pakistan movement led by the founding father Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah who introduced the Pakistan
resolution in Lahore on March 23,1940. It is a landmark in the history of Muslims political consciousness in
British India, resulted in the formation of the constitutional struggle that led to the creation of Pakistan 7 years later on 14 August 1947.
H.E. Nabeel by addressing the valuable guests called all the countries to follow together in pursuit friendship,
cooperation, and peaceful co-existence as the clouds of war and instability has risen in the horizon again by mentioning the special principles also the part of Pakistan foreign policy that entails: (1) Friendliness and good will towards all nations of the world, (2) belief in the principal of honesty, justice and fair play in an international relation, (3) promotion of international peace and prosperity, (4) upholding the principals and the purposes of the UN charter.
As this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between Islamic Republic
of Pakistan and the Republic of Korea, H.E. Nabeel highly appreciated the ROK’s assistance and cooperation in various fields of Pakistan and declares his hope to strengthen the ties by high-level visits from both countries
this year.
H.E Nabeel said, "let us continue to move forward in pursuit of common head, betterment of two nation
peoples and win-win partnerships.”
Mr. Park Yongmin, Deputy Minister for Multilateral and Global Affairs shared his heartfelt gratitude at the
special occasion and said, “an important milestone of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between
two countries presents an excellent opportunity to further strengthen our friendship, to cultivate trust, and to nurture mutual understanding.”
He said, “It is time to generate fresh impetus to charge a new core for the next 40 years of shared prosperity.”
Mr. Park further said, “I believe there are new avenues to explore our verity levels harnessing our respective
advantages to the mutual benefits of two nation peoples, and now look forward to the ties of true affinity
between Korea and Pakistan resonating through the decades to come.”
Later “the Raas Dance Company” Korean performers made the ceremony more colorful with their graceful
cultural dance performance on Pakistan classical song “sanson ki mala” and “Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom.”

The ceremony came to end with the customary celebration of traditional cake cutting by H.E Nabeel Munir
Mr. Lee Hack Young, Mr. Park Yongmin, Mr. Lee Kyung-chul and Lt. General (R) Humayun Aziz.

The history of Pakistan National Day:
23rd March is celebrated annually throughout the Pakistan as a public holiday. Pakistan national Day called
“Yaum-e-Pakistan” is celebrated every year on March 23 to commemorate the presentation of Pakistan
Resolution by the all India Muslim League at Minar-e-Pakistan (lit. Pakistan Tower), Lahore on 23 March 1940
that raised the voice for the creation of an independent sovereign state derived from the provinces with
Muslim majorities located in the North-West and East of British India. After the struggle of 7 years Muslims of India achieved independence from British rule and Pakistan became a sovereign state on 14 August 1947.
It is also a day to commemorate the adoption of the first Constitution of Pakistan during the transition of the Dominion of Pakistan to the ‘Islamic Republic of Pakistan’ on 23 March 1956 making Pakistan the world's first
Islamic republic.
Basic Principles Committee drafted the basic outlines of the constitution after a lot of works and efforts in
1949 and at least the first set of the Constitution of Pakistan was enforced in the country on 23 March 1956
after many deliberations and years of some modifications.
The Pakistan Armed Forces usually hold a military parade is rehearsed and broadcast live by the news media
all over the country to celebrate the national historical day.
