South Korean president Yoon Seok-yeol along with First Lady Kim Gun-hee attended the Easter combined
worship service held at Yeongrak Church, Seoul on Sunday April 9, 2023.

President Yoon expressed his gratitude on the day of Easter by ruminating the message of resurrection and
said, “Jesus' resurrection is a message of salvation that mankind can be reborn through the practice of love
and the essence of the Christian spirit is love, dedication, sacrifice, and resurrection.”
He said, “The spirit of 'love' and 'solidarity', protecting the freedom of our neighbors and the freedom of
global citizens, embodied in the words of Jesus.”
“The Korean churches warmly cares for its neighbors and fills their society with love according to the words of Jesus.” He added.
Yoon reminded that he has been practicing this love by collecting more than 7 billion won in donations for
the victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey.
“By keeping the constitutional spirit well is the way to practice God's teachings that lies and corruption cannot threaten our liberal democracy, our constitutional spirit of liberal democracy, and the system and order of our society are in the Bible.” Yoon said.
Moreover, he emphasized that “the government will make more efforts to embrace the weak in our society
warmly and build a warmer society.”
It is president Yoon’s first Easter combined service this year since taking charge of his presidency, celebrated and prayed for the joy of resurrection.
Last year, President Yoon attended the combined Easter worship service held at Yoido Full Gospel Church.
Easter joint worship service held at Yeongrak Church, Seoul was attended by Kim Jin-pyo, the National
Assembly Speaker, Kim Ki-hyun, the representative of people’s power party, Park Bo-gyun the minister of
Culture, Sports and Tourism, Oh Se-hoon Seoul Mayor, Kang Seung-kyu Senior Secretary to the President for Civil Society, Kim Eun-hye, Senior Secretary to the President for Public Relations, Lim Jong-deuk, 2nd Deputy
Director of the Office of National Security, the Leaders and saints of major Christian denominations
