“South Korea is the second home for every foreigner who come here in search of better life. All you have to do is to follow the rules and do y our best with sincere heart and devote your hard work for the economic development of the beloved country. South Korea has much to pay you back.” said M. Rashid to the Newsnomics.
M. Mohammad Rashid from Pakistan is an example of sincerity, hard work, devotion and motivation for the Pakistani community as well as for the foreigners from all countries residing in South Korea. His devotional contributions for the economic development of South Korea are admirable without any doubt.
As he arrived in South Korea, he never stopped but worked hard for the development of future dreams as well as the South Korean economy through his continuous volunteer contributions.
M. Rashid has paid his devotion and hard work for the benefit of others more than himself while his stay in South Korea.
Recently he is the vice chairman of the ‘Pakistan welfare attaché’ organized by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea since 2020. ‘Pakistan welfare Attaché’ is working specifically on solving the issues and problems faced by Pakistani community residing in South Korea such as accidents, health issues, counseling the new comers, raising funds for the unfortunate incidents, and transportation of mortal remains of the dead etc.
M. Rashid was appreciated by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea for his volunteer assistance to Community Wing Attaché in reaching and solving problems of Pakistani workers and Korean employees.
Not only that, he was also honored with appreciation certificate by the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan for his generous contributions of donating US 1000$ to the Diamer-Basha and Mohmand Dams Fund announced by the former Prime Minister Imran Khan. And, once again was appreciated by the Pakistan Embassy for contributing 1000$ donation for Covid-19.
M. Rashid is also giving his services as a President of Gyeong nam Pakistan Korean Association since 2014, devoting himself for the rights of Pakistani community residing in South Korea. He is actively participating in the cultural diversity festival MAMF.
His continuous contribution and sincerity towards “MAMF, one of the largest diversity cultural festivals in South Korea” until now is the reason that Pakistan is going to lead MAMF 2023, will be held on October 20~22, 2023 organized by Gyeongsangnam-do, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam Immigrant Labor Welfare Center, Changwon Cultural Foundation, and MAMF 2023 Promotion Committee.
M. Rashid has been working voluntary as an interpreter in the Gyeongnam Immigration Center since 2014.
◆ Certificates and appreciation plaques from Korean organizations:
Several times M. Rashid has been honored by receiving letter of appreciation, certificates and shields for his devotion and continuous volunteer contributions from different Korean organizations.
In 2022, the Changwon West Police Station appointed him as a member of the foreign cyber police “with us” and honored him with a letter of appointment.
In 2022, the Mayor Hong Nam-pyo from Changwon city has awarded M. Rashid with plague of commendation for devoting himself to the development of the local community with his extraordinary spirit of volunteer work with the Masan Welfare Family Volunteer Association.
In 2021, M. Rashid took the lead in various activities to promote the rights and interests of foreign residents, harmony, and cultural diversity during the crisis of Covid-19 and received a thanksgiving plaque of appreciation by the Gyeongsangnam-do Foreign Residents Support Center.
In 2020, he received the award of appreciation by the Gyeongnam Immigrant Labor Welfare Center for his love, devotion and interest for the foreign community.
Until now, he has received about 3 certificates of appreciation from the Masan Dongbu Police Station so far for being an active through volunteer foreign representative even on regular road patrol.
In 2019, he received a letter of appreciation for his devoted services, for the protection of human rights and welfare promotion, the development of the Korean Resident Association, cultural exchange and communication through the Cultural Diversity Festival MAMF.
In 2018, M. Rashid was awarded with appreciation shield by the Gyeongnam Immigrant Labor Welfare Center for his contributions in creating a multicultural society through the Cultural Diversity Festival MAMF.
◆ Donations:
M. Rashid is assisting many people in need through his continuous humanitarian aid every month to the Korean organizations such as: 1) Association of Korean Federation, 2) Concern World Wide, 3) Korean Red Cross, 4) Good Neighbors, 5) Bongam-dong Welfare Family Volunteer Association.
In 2021, he has provided his assistance by donating 1000$ US dollars for the Covid-19 fund to the government of Pakistan during the critical pandemic time.
In 2019, he donated 1000$ Us dollars to the government of Pakistan for the Diamer-Basha and Mohmand Dams Fund announced by the former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In 2017, M. Rashid has provided deposition of 30 chicken vouchers for the 30 neighbors in need, such as children of low-income and single-parent families. Park Woo-sik, head of the 1st building, appreciated him with thank for his warm heart that delivers love for neighbors.
He has donated chicken that worth 500,000 won three times to help the needy at Bongam-dong Community Center in 2016.
And once, donated chicken worth 500,000 won to the Cheonseong-dong Community Service Center in 2016.
He has divided 500 boxes of masks to the foreign community residing in Masan, South Korea during pandemic time on his own expenditures.
◆ Individual life activities:
M. Rashid shared his struggle and hard work of twenty years in South Korea with Newsnomics on being asked.
M. Mohammad Rashid is residing in South Korea from twenty-one. In 2003, he came to the Republic of Korea as a migrant worker of the company ‘Doosung’ with devotional spirit and the motive of hard work.
In 2008, he got married with the Korean woman and started his own small business of Kebab on Labo vehicle alongside the road in 2009 with strong will to do something better.
In 2010 he opened an Asia Mart in Bongam-dong, Masan through his hard work with devotion and sincerity.
In 2012, he opened “Taj Mahal” a Pakistani restaurant specialized in Indian and Pakistani Curry & Tandoori and still running that restaurant. Recently, he is providing service of ‘student discount membership’ every month for the student Association of Pakistan in South Korea.
After the establishment of Taj Mahal, he did not just stop here, but moved forward to achieve more goal with the beginning of ‘Tiva Doomari Chicken’ with Korean partner for establishing the multiple food zone.
He has also registered his own exports company named MR. Trading in 2019 with hope of better export products.
M. Rashid said, “Humanity is the best religion and I will give my best for serving the humanity all times.”
