The Ministry of Justice, with a motive to make
‘drug-free Country' has strengthens education
and publicity activities to protect youth from the danger of drugs that is killing the lives of the
teenagers and spoiling their future.
“We will do our best to take all prevention against drugs from entering the daily lives of teenagers through
drug prevention education and publicity activities suitable for teenagers, and restores the status of Korea as a drug-free country,” said the ministry of justice on May 8, 2023.
South Korea Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Gender
Equality & Family conducts ‘Lectures on Drug Prevention law” for the legal Education of elementary, middle,
and high school students and the teenagers out-of-school and out-of-home to educate them for the preven
tion of their lives from drug through personal visits.
Since March 20, 2023, about 302 business trip lectures were held in the duration of two months, enhanced
the existing knowledge through transfer-oriented lectures, conducted as participatory education centered on
storytelling feature characters.
The Ministry plans to conduct more than 1,000 additional lectures on drug prevention law education for
teenagers by the end of the year.
The ministry of justice said, “we will take the lead in protecting our youth from drugs, such as by spreading
the posters on anti-drug awareness, to produce and distribute family newsletters, and provide various video
contents preferred by teenagers to YouTube and by posting on the legal education website ‘Beneficial Law’
(www.lawnorder.go.kr).
In addition, the ministry of justice plans to simultaneously carry out offline campaigns by using 35 teams of
'Justice Supporters', a youth and university student’s recruited volunteer group active every year to spread a
culture of practicing law and order.
Moreover, the ministry will conduct various social media online campaigns, self-produced creative content and goods under the theme of 'drug prevention' this year.
The drug prevention campaign video (30 seconds) produced by the Ministry of Justice is broadcased in the
metropolitan areas for the month of May. It will be transmitted to the city buses and subways, and nationwide in June especially at the ‘Drug Eradication Day ‘on June 26.
The ministry is also going to post the drug prevention law video on outdoor electronic display boards in 25
major cities, KTX stations, and waiting rooms at express bus terminals, so that more citizens can get awareness about the dangers of drugs.
The Ministry of Justice's along with Yang Hak-seon, a gold medalist in gymnastics at the 2012 London
Olympic Games and a public relations ambassador is already promoting drug prevention education by
running “Eradication of Drugs" campaign through various spaces and media such as radio, subway, SNS, and policy sites since April 15,2023, a powerful leap towards the drug free South Korea.
