Pakistan’s mountaineer Naila Kiani, became the second woman of Pakistan who made proud to the country
by raising country’s flag on the peak of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world situated in Nepal.
According to the reports, the mountaineer Kiani reached Mount Everest's pinnacle, scaling up to 8,849 meters at 8:02 am on Sunday 14, 2023.
Karar Haidri, the secretary general of Alpine Club of Pakistan said, “Kiani is the first Pakistani woman climber to summit four peaks over 8,000 m and the second to scale the mighty Everest.”
Pakistan Prime minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulates her in a tweet by saying, “Kiani has made Pakistan
proud.”
Though her passion for mountaineering and amazing achievements to her credit, she has reinforced the
notion that our women are capable of achieving anything. My heartiest congratulations to her & best wishes
for her future plans, the PM added.
In May 2023, Kiani became the second Pakistani woman to climb the 8,848-meter-high Mount Everest and
the first Pakistani woman to successfully climb Mount Lhotse.
In April 2023, she became the first Pakistani woman to scale Annapurna, the world's 10th highest mountain
with peak 8,091-meter located in Nepal.
In August 2022, she summitted Gasherbrum I, the 11th highest mountain in the world with peak of 8,080
meter.
In July 2022, she climbed the 8,611-meter-high K-2, the 2nd highest mountain in the world.
In July 2021, Kiani became the first Pakistani female mountaineer to successfully ascend the Gasherbrum II the world's 13th highest mountain with height 8,035 meter.
Samina Baig, 21-year-old mountaineer from the Shimshal valley of Hunza, Pakistan was the first women who
climbed Mount Everest in 2013.
