South Korean Ministry of Justice has announced the government’s 2nd joint crackdown of 50 days on illegal foreigners going to begin from 12.6.2023~31.7.2023.
The Ministry of Justice together with National Police Agency, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Korea Coast
Guard is going to conduct joint crackdown on foreign crimes such as drugs threats to national safety, illegal aliens who disrupt the order of stay, illegal entry/employment brokers, etc.
According to the ministry of Justice, it is a policy to thoroughly block the distribution and spread of drugs in Korea through foreigners especially belong to the countries where drugs have recently been legalized.
The Ministry of Justice will take strong measures, including not only criminal punishment but permanent entry ban after deportation, even for minor drug offenders, against foreigners who would be caught with illegal stay in South Korea.
In addition, the ministry of Justice will deal strictly according to the criminal procedure to the brokers who promote illegal stay such as illegal entry and job placement.
The Ministry of Justice said, “we will do our best to comply with due process in the crackdown and protect the human rights of foreigners.”
Han Dong-hoon, the Minister of Justice said, “We will create a safe society for Korean citizens and foreigners together in order to get out foreign crimes such as drugs and illegal employment brokers, etc.”
“We will do our best to establish order in our residence by dealing with it strictly.” he added.
