The Republic of Korea announced $2 million in humanitarian aid to flood-effected Libya said the foreign
ministry on Sunday.
The humanitarian aid will be sent via the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs
and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies according to the foreign ministry of South Korea.
"We hope this aid will help quickly stabilize the Libyan people who have suffered damage from the typhoon
and flooding and help recovery efforts," the ministry added.
The flood-stricken Libya is suffering with huge and sever devastation due to the powerful Typhoon killed more than 13,000 people.
According to the UN report, “more than 13,300 people have died since a powerful typhoon struck Libya's
eastern coastal city of Derna caused devastating flooding on September 10.
On September 11, by observing the catastrophic situation, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives issued an urgent appeal for international help in dealing with Storm Daniel’s devastating
impact on the Cyrenaica region.
Prior to the storm, some 300,000 people in Libya were assessed to require humanitarian assistance according
to the 2023 Humanitarian Overview.
