Pakistan is celebrating 146th birth anniversary in the remembrance of Dr. Iqbal.

Pakistan celebrates Iqbal day on every November 9 in all the provinces to present tribute to Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the "Poet of the East". 


Iqbal day is declared a public holiday across Pakistan that marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal born on November 9, 1877 in Sialkot city, also called the city of Iqbal.


Dr. Iqbal is one of the visionary leaders in the history of Pakistan who played an instrumental role in inspiring millions of Muslims across the sub-continent to seek an independent homeland where every Muslim could practice Islam with freedom.


Dr. Iqbal is Popularly known as "Poet of the East" across Pakistan and other parts of the world because of his universal poetry, coupled with a keen political acumen explores a higher purpose, God's divinity, and the ultimate definition of Islam.


One of the influential moments in Dr. Iqbal's legacy that played a pivotal role in the history of Pakistan is his presidential address of the All-India Muslim League at Allahabad in 1930.


Dr. Iqbal’s historic address provided the clear direction for the Muslims to strive towards the creation of independent state our beloved Pakistan.


Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal is widely remembered in India for penning one of the most patriotic songs ever written, ‘Saare jahan se achha’ based on the two nations theory.


All the Pakistani nation give tribute to the great philosopher-poet whose poetry verses inspires the generations of all era, fostering a sense of unity and identity among the people of Pakistan.


This year Pakistan is celebrating 146th birth anniversary in the remembrance of Dr. Iqbal.


Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and President Dr. Arif Alvi paid tribute to Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal on his 146th birth anniversary by appreciating his pivotal role in shaping the ideology of Pakistan. Both highlighted Dr. Iqbal contributions to Muslim consciousness, his unwavering belief in self-reliance and self-empowerment.


President Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized on his powerful writings and poetry to motivate the Muslim nation and admired Iqbal's teachings on Islam and his concept of "Khudi" (self-respect) to build a prosperous and empowered homeland.


Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar credited Dr. Iqbal for his motivational role to create sense of unity among the Muslims and fight for their fundamental rights. He applauded Iqbal's philosophy of "Khudi" as a guiding principle for achieving success in both this world and the hereafter.


PM Kakar not only reiterated Iqbal's vision of Pakistan as a peaceful, tolerant, and fraternal society, but also urged the youth to embrace Iqbal's ideals and contribute positively to the nation's progress and development.
