Chinese firm handed over 160 Higer high-end pure electric buses to CDA, Capital Development Authority of Pakistan during a delivery ceremony held in Suzhou Industrial Park in Jiangsu province, China on Saturday.

It is the first time that Pakistan has introduced pure electric buses in large quantities, reported by the China Economic Net (CEN).

The batch of pure e-buses exported to Pakistan has the advantages of zero emissions, low operating costs, and low noise pollution, which will greatly improve the efficiency of public transportation operations and the quality of residents’ travel.

The cruising range of the e-buses exceeds 250 kilometers, and the entire vehicle uses the most advanced cathodic electrophoresis technology, that carries an anti-corrosion period of more than ten years.

In addition, regarding software intelligence, 160 pure electric buses are fully equipped with T-BOX (the intelligent operation system), which can monitor driver behavior and vehicle operation data in real-time to ensure operational safety and protect passenger travel.

It is reported that the value of the order exceeds RMB 150 million (Chinese currency).

Pakistan officials including General Manager Suzhou Higer, Qiu Yuanhong, Deputy General Manager Xie Jianghong, Customer Service Director Jiang Haifeng, and General Manager of Overseas Sales, were among the attendees of the ceremony held in Suzhou Industrial Park, China.

The officials delivered speeches and expressed their high recognition for this batch of buses contributing to Pakistan’s green and low-carbon travel.

Pakistan, a day before the ceremony tested all aspects of buses that founded performed perfectly in appearance, performance, and all other aspects.

Following the agreement of CDA regarding the procurement of 160 electric buses from China, the first batch of the 30 new zero-emission buses arrived at the Zero Point Bus Terminal in the first month of the new year.

Additionally, the second batch of Electric Vehicles (EVs) are expected to arrive in Islamabad in February or March this year.

CDA, Pakistan has announced 13 new routes of new e-buses that hopefully will provide an environment-friendly means of transportation, contribute towards traffic reduction, facilitate citizens with the availability of new routes, and contribute towards improvement in climate.

Currently, Higer’s new energy buses hold the attention of the largest market share in Pakistan.

Since 2006, Higer in response to the Pakistan’s local dusty and congested road traffic characteristics has continued to prioritized technological innovation and customize high-quality buses, that can calmly cope with the local climate environment and complex road conditions.

The arrival of 160 e-buses to Pakistan is a new strong bonding collaboration between Pakistan and China that promotes the high-quality development of CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) and BRI (the Belt and Road Initiative) in the field of public transportation.

Pakistan and China enjoy close and friendly relationship since the establishment of diplomatic relations in May 1951. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”.

Pakistan considers China as one of its closest friend and partner and China considers Pakistan as its “Iron Brother”.
