Saudi Arabia unveils mega multi-used stadium in Qiddya amid 2034 world cup

The mega multi-use stadium is projected to attract 1.8 million annual visits will play a significant role in driving tourism and job creation.

Saudi Arabia unveils the stunning & groundbreaking launch of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya city, a multi-functional venue set to provide the backdrop to some of the region’s biggest sports, entertainment and cultural events,” announced by the Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) on Monday. 

 

The Prince Mohammad bin Salman Stadium will be located at the top of the “breathtaking 200m-high Tuwaiq Cliff” near Riyadh, and is in “direct proximity to 50,000 square meters of shopping, dining, entertainment spaces and hotels”.

 

The stunning stadium is designed by leading architectural firm Populous will be the world’s first fully integrated venue that is featuring a unique combination of a retractable roof, pitch, and an LED wall.

 

According to Qiddiya, a sponsor of Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, the stadium’s LED wall will be “a portal to live event broadcasts, high-definition films and laser shows that offer guests a novel, immersive experience with each visit”.

 

The impressive construction is expected to attract visitors from all over the world that will be able to enjoy “multiple spectacles in a single day, including football, boxing, E sports, concerts, and theater performances”, while they will be provided with access to “live data and information including the use of state-of-the-art holographic technology, enabling virtual interactions with celebrities and stars”.

 

The multi-use venue stadium will serve as the home ground for Al Hilal and Al Nassr football clubs, is a proposed venue for the 2034 FIFA World Cup and is set to host major regional sports events like the Saudi King Cup and the Asian Cup.

 

The mega multi-use stadium is projected to attract 1.8 million annual visits showcase the cornerstone of Vision 2030, aimed at fostering a vibrant society, boosting the economy, and building an ambitious nation.

 

Abdullah Aldawood, managing director of Qiddiya Investment Company, emphasized the stadium's central role in making Qiddiya City a global entertainment, sports, and cultural hub.

 

The projection of new Iconic stadium will also play a significant role in driving tourism and job creation.
