“The facility for the issuance and renewal of identity cards will be made available at the Union Council (UC) level across Pakistan” has been announced by Mohsin Naqvi, the Federal Interior Minister of Pakistan on Friday.
Additionally, bio-metric machines will be installed at union council levels nationwide.
The announcement came after his visit to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) headquarters where he chaired an important meeting where multiple proposals were discussed to make NADRA more convenient & people-friendly.
Mohsin Naqvi directed a plan to make the national Identity Card system foolproof, better, and efficient. And emphasized the need of more NADRA centers to facilitate the visitors without delay services.
According to the presented plan more NADRA centers will be open in six major cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi within seven days.
Mohsin Naqvi also ordered effective action against the fake identity card mafia.
Later, the minister visited the NADRA operational room and gave briefing on the digital monitoring system of NADRA centers across Pakistan.
He appreciated the efforts of Chairman NADRA, Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar, and his team.
