A BMW car parked in the underground parking lot of an apartment complex in Songdo International City, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, caught fire on 9 at 6:04 p.m.
The fire burned the engine room of the vehicle, but no causalities has been reported.
The apartment management office extinguished the fire immediately after the smoke broke out and reported to the fire authorities.
The Firefighting authorities dispatched to the scene after being reported and extinguished the flames in about 16 minutes by deploying 44 firefighters and 16 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks.
The Police and fire authorities are going to investigate the exact cause of the fire based on CCTV footage from the accident scene.
A fire department official said, "The car that caught fire was determined to be a gasoline vehicle, not an electric vehicle."
On the same day, the authorities reported, "An electric vehicle caused the death of 1 person being caught fire after crashing into a road structure in Pyeongtaek city, Gyeonggi Province."
